Friday 5th February: A Sound Beneath the Waves

Special guest storyteller Vergine Gulbenkian presents an acclaimed storytelling piece of traditional Armenian tales woven into a quest to save a brother's life.

Vergine Gulbenkian Vergine has performed traditional tales and epics in venues which include the South Bank centre, the Battersea Arts Centre, the British Museum, the Barbican Centre and extensively in museums, schools and storytelling clubs around Britain. Armenian folk songs are an integral part of her performances. She was recently Storyteller in Residence for a project called ‘Storytelling across cultures’ bringing traditional tales to schools and community centres in Oxfordshire. Vergine was also be performing in schools in Bristol as part of the Storytelling Festival.
