Life doesn’t always turn out the way we think it should,

but stories can help us find our way through the wild wood…

2012 marks the 200th anniversary of the publication of the Brothers Grimm’s first collection of folk and fairy tales. This soulful storytelling piece from Martin Maudsley weaves together a personal selection of deep and dark Grimm’s tales with biographic ups and downs from the voyage of life…

Martin is the founder and Artistic Director of Bristol Storytelling Festival, and runs Folk Tales – a popular adult storytelling and music event. He appears regularly as a performance storyteller in theatres including Bristol Old Vic, Taunton Brewhouse, The North Wall (Oxford) and The Egg Theatre (Bath).

His show from the 2010 Festival with Fiona Barrow, Old Tom’s Tales, has recently performed at the Tobacco Factory, Bridport Arts Centre and at the first Aberystwyth Storytelling Festival.

Martin and Ailsa will be collaborating together on Wayland the Smith for Storytelling Sundays at the the Tobacco Factory Brewery in March.
